2019 Recruitment and Tap Process
Friday, September 17th @ 6:30pm! Location TBD
Come laugh with us, and see what the VQ is all about! A typical one-hour show - we'll perform some of our favorite games and stick around afterward to answer any questions. Limited capacity - first years and sophomores only please!
Sunday, September 12 at 3pm! LIVESTREAMED
An awesome chance to learn about the improv scene at Yale. Each of the four improv groups will perform a fifteen-minute set. Check back here or follow our IG (@theViolaQuestion) for the livestream link.
Wednesday, September 8 @ 7pm – WLH
Sunday, September 12 @ 5pm – WLH
Never done improv before? That's okay! Many of us had no prior experience doing improv, or even theater for that matter. We simply went to a couple workshops, had fun, and decided to give it a try. At our workshops, we'll teach you some basic improv rules and pointers, in addition to giving you an introduction to the VQ and our unique improv style. Then you'll get right into learning and playing a selection of our signature games. Both workshops will follow a similar format. A great way to meet members of the group and fellow first-years.
Meet us outside WLH at any of the following times:
Saturday, September 18: 1, 3, 5
Sunday, September 19: 1, 3, 5
Auditions are almost exactly the same as our workshops. Just keep having fun! There are five audition time slots. All improv groups use the same schedule, meaning that if you want to audition for all five groups, you'll need to go to one group during every slot. You may only audition for us during one of those slots. Don't be nervous! It's a lot of fun! Just bring yourself and your imagination.
Tuesday, September 21
Callbacks will be announced Wednesday morning and will take place that same night. Callbacks are just as much fun as workshops and auditions, except this time around you will be playing some VQ originals!
